David swam competitively growing up and became a mediocre distance runner in his 20’s. He didn’t own a proper road bike until 2023 when he joined DC Tri’s New Triathlete Program. From there, things escalated quickly—he competed in 11 races and completed his first Ironman within 15 months of joining. David credits his success to the incredible support, training advice, and occasional tough love from his NTP mentors, seasoned DC Tri veterans, and friends. What keeps him going is a sweet treat and a pint of beer he rewards himself with at the end of each race (and most weekend workouts).
